Q: Cameron, first time playing three sets here, crowd against you. What do you think was the key to win?
A: It's a good fun match and the crowd played a big part but I think that's the matches you want to be playing, you know, night matches with the crowd for or against you and today was against me and, yeah, I think Thiago rose his level on the second set, I played one loose game on my serve and I know didn't really return that well in the second set and I think I came out in the third set, I changed clothes and it was very humid conditions. So I came out and I played really good and he fought hard at 5/1 and I could probably should have finished at 5/1 there but I managed to stay tough and play a good return game to finish it off. But yeah, it was a great match great atmosphere and he's a tough player because he's so aggressive and I really rate his highest level and I think if he can sustain that level throughout a match or a tournament, then yeah, it is no surprise why he can beat some of the best players in the world. He's already proven that this year last year and he's already won a title before so a really good player and I really liked his game.
Q: Hi Cameron. I would like to know what is it like for you to play in Rio. Have you visited anywhere in the city?
A: It's very humid, very hot to play here. But I think it’s very really special, you know, like the sort of proper tennis club and the atmosphere is crazy. They love tennis. And you're playing under Christ the Redeemer so I think it's an unbelievable tournament and yeah, I think it's a great city. I like I like cities on the beach and actually this year I have not done too much and all I've done is go to the beach in the morning, go swimming and then play tennis in the afternoon. So I'm in a good routine at the moment and hopefully after the tournament I'll get to enjoy one night and do something fun. I know it's a great city outside of just the tennis bubble that I'm in right now.
Q: They are still playing right now, but what do you know about Fonseca and Navone, your next rival here?
A: Yeah, I've watched Fonseca a lot this week. And he is a really complete game already. And I think he looks like he's really ready to play on the biggest stage of tennis and he looks confident, he looks really comfortable playing here at home and he likes the crowd with him and he's loving it, you know. I think that says a lot of good things about of a player where he can play well at home you know, you can rise to the level and he played an unbelievable first set. I just saw now. And Navone I watch him a little bit this last few weeks. He has an unbelievable backhand and he's beat some top players, he's done really well on the challengers. So like I've been saying all week, you know, regardless of the rankings out here you have to compete with the conditions as well and it showed in the match today how humid, how hard it was, how much I was sweating and yeah, it's gonna be a tough one out of those two guys. They are both playing well, they’re both confident and probably playing their best level of the career so far.
