The Rio Open, the only ATP 500 tournament in South America and the region's largest tennis tournament, reaches its 12th edition reinforcing its identity as an event that goes far beyond sports. Between February 14th and 22nd, the Jockey Club Brasileiro will host a week that brings together high-performance tennis, culture, gastronomy, sustainability, social inclusion, and experiences for the public.

Over nine days, the tournament expects to receive around 70,000 people, generate more than R$ 200 million in the city's economy, and create approximately 5,000 direct and indirect jobs.

Broadcast live to more than 140 countries, the tournament reinforces Rio's image as a global destination for sports and entertainment. Committed to sustainability, diversity, and social inclusion, it has been carbon neutral since 2020, recognized by the UN, and promotes initiatives through the Rio Open Ace program, which benefits children and young people from social projects with development opportunities through sport.

Leblon Boulevard: gastronomy, culture and brands

In addition to watching the best tennis on the courts, the public will find one of the event's great highlights at Leblon Boulevard. With over 10,000 m², the space is the main meeting point outside the courts, bringing together brand activations, social areas, cultural interventions, interactive experiences, and a gastronomic curation that grows with each edition.

Among the new additions for 2026 are Francese, Jappa da Quitanda, and Benola Burger, which join the other exhibitors at the tournament.

The Boulevard also houses La Boutique, the official Rio Open store, where the public can find the 2026 Collection, and the official Fila store, with exclusive products.

La Boutique — Official Lifestyle of the Tournament

La Boutique, the official store of the Rio Open, presents the Rio Open 2026 Collection, which arrives with new items and more than 50 exclusive products that reflect the lifestyle of the tournament on and off the courts. The line includes t-shirts, accessories, casual pieces, memorabilia items, and the new Poster T-shirts (R$ 150), as well as the Official Poster (R$ 60), both inspired by the visual identity of this edition.

Located on Leblon Boulevard, La Boutique is one of the most visited spaces by the public and a meeting point for those seeking pieces that celebrate the atmosphere of the Rio Open.

Official Art — Tradition, Guest Artists, and the 2026 Identity

In every edition, the Rio Open invites a Brazilian artist to create the official artwork for the tournament, which gives rise to the poster, graphic pieces, and visual communication of the event. The Rio Open's identity has already been designed by names such as Ana Bella Geiger, Maxwell Alexandre, Luiz Zerbini, and Raul Mourão, reaffirming the intersection between contemporary sport, culture, design, and Brazilian aesthetics.

In 2026, the visual identity is marked by Crux, a work created by the artist Marcos Chaves, which brings to life the official poster and inspires the entire visual narrative of the tournament. The composition offers a poetic reinterpretation of the clay court, reorganizing its elements in a graphic and symbolic way, characteristic of the artist's work.

Sustainability and Governance

The Rio Open has been a carbon-neutral event since 2020, with actions structured by the Rio Open Green program, which involves waste management, recycling, composting, and neutralization of greenhouse gas emissions.

The tournament also maintains a permanent Ombudsman channel, with confidential and specialized service, reinforcing its commitment to ethics, respect, diversity, and governance practices.

Social Impact: Winners, Rio Open Ace, and Training

The Rio Open deepens its social commitment through the Rio Open Ace platform.

The Winners tournament, the event's social tournament, takes place on the official courts and brings together young people from community projects to experience high-performance competition at an ATP 500 event.

Since 2014, the tournament has also supported social projects that train and empower young people – many of whom work as ball boys and collaborators in various areas of the operation, expanding their opportunities for training and professional integration.

The NERO – Rio Open Sports Center complements this work, offering tennis lessons, citizenship training, meals, and pedagogical support to students from the public school system.

Wheelchair Tennis Elite: High Performance, Inclusion, and Leadership at the Rio Open

Presented by ALLOS, the Wheelchair Tennis Elite officially integrates the Rio Open's sports program and reinforces the tournament's commitment to diversity, accessibility, and high performance. The competition brings together some of the biggest names in wheelchair tennis today — including the world number 1, Tokito Oda.

In addition to highlighting outstanding athletes, the Wheelchair Tennis Elite expands representation within the tournament, promotes visibility for Paralympic sport, and reinforces the message that major international events play a fundamental role in encouraging inclusive sports practices and stimulating new generations.

Final, culture and celebration

Before the final, the national anthem will be performed by a drum section made up of children and young percussionists from samba schools of the Special Group, under the direction of Pretinho da Serrinha and with the participation of Miguelzinho do Cavaco.

Trophy presentation — tradition and reference

The Rio Open maintains, with each edition, the tradition of inviting big names in world tennis to present the trophy to the champion, reinforcing the prestige and history of the tournament. Past participants include idols such as Gustavo Kuerten, Juan Martín del Potro, and David Ferrer. In 2026, the special guest will be Andre Agassi, one of the greatest players of all time, who will present the tournament's official trophy to the champion—a piece created by Rio de Janeiro designer Antônio Bernardo, specially conceived to celebrate the identity and aesthetics of the Rio Open.

Tribute – Ivan Kley

Maintaining its tradition of honoring great names in Brazilian tennis, the Rio Open will pay tribute to former tennis player and coach Ivan Kley, who passed away early last year at the age of 66.
