The Rio Open, presented by Claro, had two player changes this Monday. French player Alexandre Muller suffered a muscle injury and Spaniard Carlos Taberner suffered an abdominal injury and are out of the 2026 edition of the main tournament in South America.
Muller was scheduled to play the doubles tournament with Bosnian Damir Dzumhur and face Brazilians João Fonseca and Marcelo Melo this Monday. With Muller's withdrawal, Fonseca and Melo will face Argentinian Román Andres Burruchaga and Italian Andrea Pellegrino.
Seeded number 6, Muller was scheduled to debut in the singles main draw on Tuesday against Croatian Dino Prizmic, who will now face Italian Francesco Passaro.
Carlos Taberner was scheduled to face two-time Rio Open champion Sebastian Baez on Tuesday, who will now debut against Portuguese Jaime Faria.
