Q: Matteo, congrats, good days in Rio. Tell us your experience so far.

A: Yeah, I am really happy for my performance tonight. I knew it wouldn't be na easy match. He played two matches in the Qualis. So it wasn't easy to be focused the whole match. I don't have many matches in my legs in this year. So really happy the way I fought through, and I think at the end of the match I was also playing better. So good feelings for for this tournament.

Q: Congratulations, Matteo, I want to know if the secret to the victory today was coconut water?

I had some after the match for hydration. We have a tent full of fruits for the players and it's really good. And I had some coconut water in the previous days, but during the match, I cannot drink it, because it doesn't fit in the bag.

Q: You played a very tough match against a lucky loser and your next opponent is also a Lucky loser. Do you think it's a bit harder to play aginst a lucky loser, because maybe they have less pressure avoiding because they already lost in the Qualifying?

A: I think every match in ATP Tour is really tough and doesn't matter who you're playing, if it's a lucky loser, qualifier, the ranking doesn't really matter. You know, these conditions, humidity, the ball is not going, so it's really tough to win matches and points. Barrios obviously is a really good player, talented. He was playing lights out. He was being aggressive, serving well, it wasn't easy, you know, like, I had to play really good. I think in the important moments, he had many chances as well. And he has an unbelievable career and unbelievable experience. He won a really tough match in the first round against a really good player. So, you know, you cannot underestimate any anybody. And when you coming from playing some matches, you know the conditions, you know what you have to do, and you know your game. So that's why lucky losers are always tough to face people.

Q: About the point you asked for the video review, what you can talk about it? What did you see at the moment and why did you ask for that?

A: I didn't ask for that. He asked for that because the chair umpire called the point in my favor. So she thought that I won the point, and I thought I won the point as well, because I saw the ball was spinning, and when the ball is spinning, it means that it touched the floor before coming in my corner. But then obviously, it's tough. You know, like video review is slow motion, the frame, it's not easy. And I know that once you have a call and you're there, you feel the pressure. It's not easy, also for her. So I was pretty sure there was like that. I can be wrong. I don't know. Obviously, Tomas thought the other way. It's part of the game, you know, like now, we have the electronic line calling. Before used to be, I called this ball and then she comes down, or he comes down and say it's good, it's out. This was the same, and I think it's part of the game, and we're gonna have that in the future. I think it's good that we have the video.
