Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, who suffered a sprained ankle earlier this week during his opening match at the Rio Open presented by Claro, returned to Jockey Club Brasileiro this Saturday afternoon.

World's number two was at the Royal Box watching the semifinal between Sebastian Baez and Francisco Cerundolo at Quadra Guga Kuerten. Alcaraz was joined by fellow countryman and 2015 champion David Ferrer, by Lui Carvalho, the tournament director, and André Sá, former Brazilian player.

Alcaraz won the tittle in Rio in 2022 and made it to the final last year, when he was defeated by Cameron Norrie. This year he retired in the first game of the match against Thiago Monteiro.
