Spaniard Martin de la Puente won his second Wheelchair Tennis Elite title, presented by ALLOS, at the Rio Open on Friday, in a rematch of the final of the first Grand Slam of the season, the Australian Open.

Two of the world's best wheelchair tennis players, Japan's Tokito Oda, world number 1, and Spaniard Martin de la Puente, currently ranked third in the world, played a close match on Court 2 of the Jockey Club Brasileiro.

The Spaniard, who lost the final match in Australia earlier this year, won this time (7/6(4), 6/7(2), 10-7).

This Saturday, wheelchair tennis stars return to play at the Rio Open in the Wheelchair Tennis Elite, this time in a doubles exhibition with Martin de la Puente and Brazilian Daniel Rodrigues against Argentinian Gustavo Fernandez and Tokito Oda.
